A week passes by...

Lately, all that is on our minds is the summer camp.

The mornings pass away in a blur with the children and barely do we sit for a cup of coffee, that it is time to plan and get ready for the next day. But what wonderful days these past week has been.

And how much we have learnt. We have learnt that every day has to be a new excitement... and boredom sets in , in three minutes flat. that if we allow ourselves to become children, the magic is so pure and most of all learning is everywhere.

We've promised not to litter, and save trees. We've sung carols and sent our bad wishes on their way, away. We have gone wild at a carnival and met Father Frost from Russia and most of all, we have stayed away from the TV... we love that.

HOLIDAZE

When we talked about the Summer Vacations to our children and asked them what their plans were and what they were doing during the vacations, most children answered that they would sleep late and watch television.
Ah, we realised , that was the truth. Children have vacations nowadays, but not parents. And hence was born the idea of a Summer Camp that had to be better than television ( tough call that, )

Holidaze is a two week long camp which aims to take children through various celebrations across the world. We have already been through festivals of the earth, Festivals of lights , and a mela too!

On the menu we still have harvest festivals, family days and birthdays across the world.

Some photos to share with you, more can found on the Facebook page.

An Eventful Day @ Sancta Maria

It was an eventful day at Sancta Maria on Saturday, 16 April 2011. As the academic session comes to an end we decided to make our last Parent Teacher Interaction day a memorable one. And so Sancta Maria was hustling and bustling with activity on Saturday. There was the ‘Reading Café’ , ‘The Step Up Ceremony’ and ‘The Art Exhibition’ .

The Art room was inaugurated with the art exhibits of our children beautifully displayed across the walls of the room. Couldn’t get better as the parents looked up proud at their little one’s creativity being admired!

Reading Café was an extension of the World Book Day celebrations and Sancta Maria inaugurated its Dining Hall with it. It was a unique concept where the kids were the ‘Chef Readers’ with name tags. The parents were the ‘book lovers’, who got to choose from the menu card placed on each ‘Chef Reader’s’ table. The parents ‘relished’ each word that our children read out to them!!

Finally came the much awaited ‘Step Up Ceremony’. The children were handed over appreciation certificates and term end reports by our Principal Ms. Shetty, as they ‘literally’ stepped up to the next grade. The parents’ eyes gleamed with emotion and pride as they witnessed their child being applauded and cheered for !!

What a terrific day occasion it has been!! Sancta Maria International School is looking forward to much more excitement and challenges for the coming academic year!!!
