Rakhi Making @ Sancta Maria

The August festivities @ Sancta Maria began with celebrating the beauty and essence of
brother-sister relationship – Raksha Bandhan which falls on 13 August 2011.

A day before, the children were briefed about the historical significance of the occasion and
then came the fun part of it ‘Make you own Rakhis’! Colourful, glittering beads adorned the
threads and children designed their own ‘rakhis’. While a few of them took their ‘rakhis’ home,
the other tied their ‘rakhis’ to their friends and classmates at school.

The pre-primary kids went the traditional way with ‘diyas’ and ‘tilak’ to create the perfect
ambience of the occasion!

Urska( our French teacher ) was the most excited one as she tied ‘rakhis’ to all the three male
members of our staff family. It was the first time she had tied rakhi to someone! Such is the
bonding we have at Sancta Maria. This is our family!
